Top fan conventions held every February
A fan convention is an event that is organized for fans of a particular genre, such as anime, comics, science fiction, or fantasy. It is a gathering where fans can come together to celebrate their favorite franchises and interact with others who share similar interests. These events usually include a variety of activities, such as panel discussions with special guests, cosplay contests, merchandise sales, and screenings of new and classic works. Some fan conventions are focused on specific franchises or creators, while others are more broadly focused on a genre or type of media. They provide an opportunity for fans to meet each other, show off their costumes and collections, and take part in events and activities that are geared towards their interests.
Farpoint — Hunt Valley, Maryland
Farpoint’s tradition has been to provide each attendee with one complimentary signature from the celebrity guest of their choice each of the two days (Saturday and Sunday) that guests sign. The complimentary signature is on an item you bring from your personal collection to be signed or the convention program book. Additional signatures and items the celebrity guest has brought with them to the convention can be purchased and signed at the same time you are redeeming your complimentary signature. This makes Farpoint a great event for fans that like collecting autographs.

What to pack for a con.
When packing for a fan convention, there are a few items you should consider bringing to ensure that you have a great time. Comfort should be a top priority, so make sure to pack comfortable clothing and footwear. You’ll likely be walking around a lot and standing in lines, so choose shoes that will allow you to do so comfortably.
It’s also a good idea to bring some cash and a credit card, as most fan conventions have vendors selling merchandise, food, and other items. In fact shopping is a major part of the experience at many expo-type shows. Make sure to bring a backpack or tote bag to carry any purchases you make during the day.
If you plan on cosplaying, make sure to pack any props, wigs, or other accessories you might need. If you’re going to be wearing makeup or body paint, it’s a good idea to bring some touch-up supplies as well.
Finally, don’t forget to pack any essentials, such as your phone charger, a water bottle, and some light snacks. Conventions can be long days, and it’s important to stay hydrated and nourished throughout the day.
By keeping these items in mind when packing, you’ll be well-prepared to have a fantastic time at your next fan convention. First timers can also read some tips for first-timers.
